Publishing a Conceptual Article from Your Dissertation: A Webinar for Ph.D. Students, Candidates, and Early Career Researchers
Completing your dissertation research provides an opportunity to dive deep on an important topic in the discipline, understanding where the knowledge base has been, and thinking about where it should go. While a portion of the dissertation focuses on making empirical contributions, the depth of exploration done during this time provides an opportunity to also contribute on a conceptual or theoretical level. This interactive webinar is designed to help Ph.D. students, candidates, and early career researchers think about how to publish a conceptual article from their dissertations. This could include a manuscript focused on a new conceptual model or analytical framework developed within the dissertation research. This could also include reflecting on what you learned from doing your dissertation research—the surprising findings, the question you wish you had asked, and the remaining questions in the subject area—and present a synthesis of current thinking on a subject area with a research agenda for the field or the construction of a new conceptual model or analytical framework generated from that reflection.
